JMS Comics - Now in Six Flavors!

What style do you like best??

It was pretty late when I made the comments on this piece initially, and I couldn't think of what I wanted to say. Although these are just simple sketches of the lead characters of each series, this picture is actually quite a big deal. Let me tell you why:

EACH of my comic series, fancomic or not, will now have its very OWN distinct drawing style! I wanted to do this because each series has a very different tone to it, and employing so many styles at once will really set me apart as an artist, I think.

SpiritSong:
This comic will be drawn using the style that I've developed over all of these years, my own original style. It's a comfortable mesh between anime/manga and western comic styles. It's generally realistic and no one feature is particularly exaggerated.

Lunar Crisis:
With this one I decided to completely alter its current style. This is a superhero comic with a Greek Mythos theme, so it's generally very western as far as the story structure goes. So, I thought it would be fun to contrast that with a very Japanese Anime style. This style is mostly based off of "K-on!" (because I love that art style) but it takes influences from the general Anime style as well.

RingTones:
Although I did just post a picture of some characters from RingTones, I've decided this is a comic best suited for a more 'realistic' style. It won't be completely realistic because that would be terribly boring both for me to draw and for you to see. In fact, I really do like the designs from that "Shinohara Sisters" picture that I did, so it won't stray too far from that.

Pokemon: Amber Version and PMD Stories:
This style has the most variety of the rest of them, mainly because it's applied to a fancomic. So I will be taking the distinct style used by the Pokemon Anime and games, and substituting my own style for it. The style for humans will be an anime style that also has some manga attributes, both very eastern style. The Pokemon will be done in my own developed style for them, as I feel that showing them with my own twist would be more interesting than trying to stick to the original style. This means that while some Pokemon will look similar to the original style, others will look radically different, usually based on the animal or thing they are based on.

Naruto: Search for the Namikaze Nine, and other Naruto Fancomics
This style speaks for itself, and its originality stems from the fact that it's not original at all. Although I'm sure my own twists will seep in, for any Naruto comic I will do my very best to stick to the original style used in the manga. Trying to be a 'copycat ninja' of Kishimoto's style will be a challenge on its own, and I would like to try it.

Feral Genesis:
For my newest comic series, I decided to go to the other end of the spectrum, and emulate the style used by western comics, namely those drawn by Marvel. I still have to do research into which individual comic artists I want to influence this style, so if any of you have suggestions, I'd gladly like to take them! Thankfully this comic is a long ways out, so I have time to perfect this style, which appears to be much more complicated than any I've done before.

Any comic series beyond these that I decide to do will also have their own styles. Some possibilities that I've noted are Disney, Soul Eater, and a few others. I'm refraining from thinking more on these ideas because I clearly have enough on my plate as it is.
